CONGRATULATIONS!

ComEd would like to thank our participating schools and students for making our first-ever ComEd Earth Month Challenge a smashing success!  And of course, we'd like to congratulate Divine Providence for winning the $5,000 Grand Prize by averaging more than 1,600 points per student!  Wow!

We marveled at the level of parent/student enthusiasm and participation across the board.  The photos, video and fridge art drawings that were sent in and posted to our blog page were absolutely fabulous!  And the weekly Challenge Sheets that were turned in showed a true commitment by parents and students to learn about energy efficiency and to adopt energy-saving habits.

Thanks again to all the school principals, administrators and teachers for making this Earth Month Challenge pilot program possible!

And special thanks to all the students -- this pilot was powered by you!
NOTEWORTHY:
St Cyril & Methodius had the largest number of students participating, and they turned in more than 100,000 points than anyone else!

More impressive than that, one of their students was able to help their parents reduce their electricity usage in April by a whopping 51%!  We've never seen that kind of energy efficiency before!

Overall, St Cyril had 39 student households that  reduced their energy usage in April -- and 19 of them did it by 10% or more!

Divine Providence had 28 households that saved electricity, 14 of them did it by 10% or more.

St Mary had 22 households that saved electricity, 9 of them saving 10% or more.

Hanson Park had 8 households that saved electricity, 5 of them by 10% or more.

St Paul had 8 households that saved electricity, 2 of them by 10% or more.
