Ceiling fans are a great way to keep cool during the Summer heat. They help move air and can supplement -- or replace -- the operation of your home's central A/C system. Many ceiling fans have light sockets in them, and if you've got incandescent light bulbs in those sockets, you're not only using more electricity than you could; you're generating a lot of heat. That's right. Regular incandescent bulbs emit more heat than light, and that's not what you want in your home during a sweltering Chicago summer.
